NO RATING GIVEN From: Larry and Ginger S.; El Cajon,
CA, proud parents of their son, Scott, a US Navy Seal now serving in Afganistan. Great book!.. No Rating given From: Aaron A. I finished your novel and am at a loss for what to say. I have
never heard a story voiced or penned as dramatically as yours. As a man of 30 something years, I feel compelled first
and foremost to say thanks to you for my country, and for my freedom, which you helped provide. I am highly-educated
and come from a very balanced background. We farm and hunt and mingle with several levels of society, power and lack
thereof. I consider myself blessed with an understanding of true combat from a civilian point of view, a short leap
of the imagination from stalking bear and cougar in the cascades. I now understand that if even half of your a words
are true, and I am most assured that you left pages of further secrecy untouched, that I have no clue whatsoever about the
trauma and reality of warfare. I have never bothered with sharing my thoughts with other authors about their works,
but your writing seemed to warrant a response. It's late, I am moved, I shook your hand, I locked
eyes with you, and have your signed book. It seemed like the correct response for once. I am not overly political,
patriotic, militant, or otherwise anything other than an average American. But I am today a prouder American because
of you.
***** FIVE
STARS+ From:
MGSGT. Steve G. Combat Veteran RVN 1964-70
I have read your book three times and may read it again.
Every time I read it, it takes me back, and I remember the good men as you called them in your book. I should remember
them more often. Thanks for that. I don't read books about Vietnam as a rule because they are mostly about
what men need in their lives in way of a pat on the back. Your book however wasn't that at all, instead it tells
the story of the unimaginable pain you suffered through every day you served our country because of what your superiors did
to you, because of how they acted so dishonorably and about their being criminals. Lowdown scum. I have met a
few of those men in the service and I can tell you I gave them a wide berth. If it hadn't been for the fact that
I just couldn't put your book down, I probably wouldn't have finished it just because it made me so angry at the officers
that commanded you. Your book, unlike most that start out really good at a level of about five or six on a scale of
one to ten and then after a couple chapters drop to about a two or three until you get to the end, before going back up to
about 4 or 5, started at over ten and stayed there until I read the very last word in it. I just couldn't wait to
see what happened next and couldn't help wondering through it all why it was happening to you. Interesting, Intense,
Captivating, Engrossing, Involved, Highly descriptive; none of these even comes close to describing your book. I know
because I was at most of the places you talked about from 1964 through 1970, and you described them all to a T. I give
you five plus stars and can't wait for the movie and your next book. I cannot
imagine after that read just how much you culled out of that story, all the things you really couldn't or wouldn't
say. I think you did a great job writing this book Boyd, I know I couldn't do it, and I have a lot of story's
that I could tell. I'd sure like to meet you someday and shake your hand, Sergeant. God bless you, I am sorry
about your loss with Buck, for all the daily pain you lived through, and thank God you survived it all. By the way,
I thought that after reading about who Buck really was I had to read the book again. Finding out about him made the
book read differently the second time. Very good book Boyd. Steve... Semper-Fi.

FIVE STARS From: Harold S. 60th Inf. Reg., 5th Mechanized Bat. Bravo Co. Vietnam 66-67 I am impressed with
your memory and writing talent. Give yourself five stars for the autobiography. I wish I could touch on the details
of my experiences that I went through while serving in Vietnam when I was with the 9th. Div. We operated in the Delta,
South of Saigon in personnel carriers. We had a Major from the pentagon to report on how we operated in the rice paddies.
We ended up throwing the manual out and used the tracks as attack vehicles with sand bag floors. I later became Spec
4 Company Clerk as I had three years prior college with an engineering major. My cousin spent a fair number of years
at American Lake. He was a helicopter pilot at Bear Cat with the 9th. I didn't know until years later that
he was flying above me. Sincerely; Harold
NO RATING From: Patrick B. Kent, Washington Dear Sergeant Boyd; As I was walking through the isles
of the Puyallup gun show several weeks ago I saw you and your novel and was just stopped in my tracks for some reason.
Seeing people buying your book, I knew I had to buy it as well. I've read several first hand accounts by combat
Veterans from Vietnam and have always been fascinated by their experiences in the field. I volunteered for the draft
after graduating from Portland State College in 1968, went to Fort Lewis, then to Fort Bliss for Vietnamese language training,
and then to Fort Holabird for interrogation training before being assigned to Da Nang. I had an Ivy League Captain
running our unit, and he was a jerk. One day he stated that he only became an officer in the Army so he could have a
good resume when he went to Wall Street after serving out his tour. What a self conceited officer. We had a second
Lieutenant who did nothing but play rock music on his reel-to-reel tape recorder all day long---another loser. However,
in our same unit we had a liason Marine Captain and he was outstanding in demeanor and was a man I could respect. I
saw many field reports about the long-range patrol activity, but your book brought home more than cold statistics but the
actual bloody reality of field combat. You have my unending respect. What I did was minor in the scale of things;
you carried the load and should have been respected to this day. God Bless You. Patrick B.
No Rating From: Craig F, Yakima, WA. I
finished reading your book that I bought from you at the Portland gun show. Then
I loaned it to a friend and he returned it a few days ago saying how much he'd enjoyed and appreciated reading it. Thank
you for your service to your country and what you endured during your service. Our country is in a real struggle now
for its future, but the service of people like you have given us the chance to have a brighter future. Craig F.
***** FIVE STARS From: Bill R, USAF Ret. Hello Robert! I was
in the Air Force for 27 years as a jet engine mechanic and aircraft loadmaster. If that bastard Flint had done the things
to me that he'd done to you I'd of had both his knee caps or hands broken... His toilet habits would be tough...
I've met some people in the Air Force I didn't like and only one that I hate to this day. What was done to you
was despicable and should be congressionally investigated. What Crow and Dillon did at the end of the book was dishonorable
too. Most officers are self serving bastards anyway. I left the service as a Master Sergeant and retired to get
away from the new breeds of people coning in and the changing of thinking of the Air Force. Robert, you ought to have
this made into a movie. I believe it would be a hit with a lot of X-G.I.'s of all branches. People need
to know about the Flints' and Lancaster's of the Air Force. Those kinds of pukes still exist. I personally
appreciate all you have done for this country and the pains you suffered in doing it. See you at the gun shows.
Bill R. ***** FIVE STARS From George A. Realtor,
Washington State I am starting to read your book for the second time. I thought it was a wonderful book, its reading reminding
me of the weekly super hero episodes I used to go to the theater every Saturday morning to see when I was a kid. You
remember, the short stories shown before the movie. Like with your book, I couldn't wait to read and or see what
happened next, I just couldn't put the thing down once I got started reading. I have purchased several, five maybe,
of your books, and intend to buy more to give to friends. Thank you; George. ***** Five Stars From: Ronald
K. US Navy, Ret. New York, N.Y. Hello, Sergeant Boyd, I finished your novel and was amazed at everything you lived through, having
to deal with officers that wanted you either dead or lost in country somehow. Great
read by the way. I was there in 66-67 and again in 69 on various missions operating in a submarine, hauling Navy
Seals to secret destinations most of the time. All of that,
like what you did, was all hush hush back then. Since I finished your book I gave it to others I served with and they
read it too. We all think you should make this into a movie somehow. Every GI out there needs to see this or read
about it just so they know what to look out for when they serve their time. I think that guy Flynn needed to have his
balls broken for doing everything he did to you. It sounds like you are a very tough minded man, a stand up American,
like someone else said. If I ever get back out west again I would like to meet you and shake your hand. God Bless
you and thanks for writing the book so others out there will be informed. Ron.
***** Five Stars From: Harold A. Captain. US Army, Ret. Tampa, FLA. Hello Sergeant Boyd. I just
finished your book. Now that is what I call a well written novel. I plan to re-read it, to enjoy again.
I agree with others that have written you about how on target your book is. I read a lot of books and can tell you that
you have a style all your own, a very good style of writing that makes reading fun and interesting, refreshingly honest.
If you write another please let me know as I would certainly enjoy it, I am sure. You wrote this one in such a way as
to make me want to read it, make me want to see what was coming next. It was not boring at all but in fact it kept me
on the edge of my seat the entire time. From the first word I had a very hard time putting it down just to get some rest or
to leave the house. Now my wife is reading it and I snicker every time she gasps or says Oh my god! We talk about all the
things you went through and chuckle about how you handled yourself against such insurmountable odds. I wish you luck
and a better life, Boyd. After reading your book I can see that you deserve it. May God Bless you and your family.
Harold and Cathy.
***** FIVE STARS From: Gerald D. Major, US Army Ret. Dear Sergeant Boyd; I have been reading
your book for a week and am almost half way through it. I don't normally like reading in general as many books
are so dull and unimaginative in their writings because the authors are just guessing at what the content should or might
be. Your book however, to coin a phrase, is one kick ass ride, if you don't mind
me saying so. I realize that it may not have been fun for you when all this was happening to you but reading
about all the things you did, the places you went, and about how you survived so many obstacles in your life while in the
service, in Tennessee, Vietnam and in the Philippines is, well, fascinating, to say the least. I can tell by reading
your story that you are a very strong willed person and a stand up American. I am proud of you and I am glad that you
survived it all and were able to return to the US. Thank you for all you did and don't worry, you didn't do
anything wrong, not in my eyes anyway. You did just great and should get the Medal of honor or at least the Silver Star
for all you lived through. God Bless you. I hope to meet you again one day so that I can shake your hand.
Well done, Sergeant... ***** FIVE STARS From: Isa R. Robert, I got your book from you when you came into electrodiagnosis and rehabilitation. My boss and I each
bought one a few months ago. I have to say that it was the best book I have ever read.
My husband and I took time together reading it and couldn't put it down. We didn't want it to end. Thank
you for this book. It really opens a persons eyes to see what men at war do to keep us free. ***** FIVE STARS From Arne A., Captain US Army. Ret.
Robert, I met you at the Puyallup
Farmers Market Last Saturday. I am already half way through your book and find it very hard to put it down. What
a page turner. Thank you so very much for writing this. I was going to wait and e-mail you after I read it all
but could not wait to tell you what I thought of it so far. OUTSTANDING!!!
It's like you are right there. I did not have to go to Vietnam, but ended up in Panama in 1973 MACV/SOG Training
and Logistics. But from my jungle training, I could smell, taste and even feel some of the things that I experienced
through your book. It brought back a lot of memories. And I know how the military can jerk you around. Again,
thank you. I have met a new friend on that Saturday and your book means a lot to me. Job well done!!! Yours truly,
Arne.
***** FIVE STARS From: Bob I. Automatic weapons manufacturer, Salem, Ore. Dear Robert; I
obtained a copy of your book from Wes K who runs the Chehalis Washington gun show. He had you sign it. Once I
started to read it I could not put it down. Wow! I have read many books, but your book tore me apart. I
had emotions that I thought were never there. The gun show is on again this weekend and if you are there I would like
very much to meet you. Looking forward to meeting you, Robert I. President, Police automatic weapons service, inc. Salem,
Oregon.
*****
FIVE STARS From: Judy D. Dear Mr. Boyd; First may I say welcome home and thank you for your
service. Just this morning I finished reading your book. This book was given to my husband, (also a Vietnam Veteran),
by a friend who purchased it from you at a gun show here in Portland, Oregon. It was signed by you. I did not intend to read this book but as I took notice of it I found that one can not even glance at it without wanting
to read it. From the very beginning this book had a profound effect on me. I almost felt like I had been
stricken with PTSD just from reading it. As I finished the last page of the book I was pleased to see that you listed
your personal website and e-mail address and that you seemed to be open to people contacting you. I have never been
so inclined to do this sort of thing before, but I guess there is a first time for everything. My husband and I are
thinking of stopping by the next gun show that is in our area and if you are there I would like to shake your hand.
I also hope that you are able to sell many books. I am glad that you still believe in God and believe the he continues
to look out for you. Your rewards may not be in this life but I believe there is a special place for you in heaven.
Your friend, Judy. ***** FIVE STARS
From :
Jade L. Housewife, Abilene Texas Dear Mr. Boyd, my husband bought your book from you at the Chehalis gun show a few months back.
He told me not to read it. When I asked him why, he simply said that I shouldn't. Trying to protect me I guess.
I caught him crying more than once while he read it and laughing too. After listened to his complaints about how you
were treated by your officers in the Air Force I decided I just had to know what it was all about. So, after he got finished with it and after he hid the book in his dresser drawer for safe keeping and when
I was sure I had the house to myself, I went into his drawer, picked it up. I began reading it, fearful all at
the same time that I might read something that would give me nightmares or something. I've been putting the book
back every night before he gets home so he doesn't know I've been reading it. I just wanted to let you know
that I thought your book was the very best book I have ever read. I mean it. I think you are a man, a man like
every woman in America wants to find and love, a man who has a heart and soul and cares about the people in his life.
You should know that I am one of the women who would love to get her hands on you. Love, Jade.
***** Five
Stars From Steve B. GREAT BOOK, GREAT GUY! A
US Vietnam Veteran reviewer. Met Robert A. Boyd at American Lake Veteran Affairs, Lakewood, WA. He is very bright
and articulate, and I had an immediate sense that his book was in fact his autobiography. Though I cannot confirm use
of embelishment of facts, I can say this book is a superb read!! ***** Five Stars From: No Name to be used.
What a GREAT
BOOK! A reviewer, a Vietnam Veteran. I actually felt like I was there fighting, flying, shooting, dropping
bombs, and standing right next to the author. WOW! What a great book! ***** Five Stars I
couldn't put the book down and read it in a week! A Reviewer, Vietnam Veteran. This book captured
me from the first word in the first chapter. I felt like I was, like I was right there fighting with him.
Having been there I could smell, hear, feel, and taste everything he did as I read. I recommend this book to everyone!
You won't find any better written books out there. I salute you Sergeant
Boyd. You did everything right in my opinion. ***** Five Stars WOW! A great book!
A reviewer, no name given, female, private citizen. I met Mr. Boyd at the bank I work at. He is a very nice man,
still handsome at his age. His book moved me in many ways and made me feel everything he felt while he was in combat.
I loved his book and believe he did nothing wrong. *****
Five Stars Finally, A book that is real! Written by a
man who tells it like it was, and in fine detail. From the very first word
I was hooked. And like others have said, I had a hard time putting the book down. I recommend this book to every
American who can read. It is a great read and a very moving story. I am proud of the author for actually
writing about all that happened to him. When you read it, you'll be proud of him too, he's a great American. Top of page Home

http://codenamelitefoot.com/critiques To all those
who have taken the time to write and tell me what you think.
I want to thank all of you who have written e-mails to me, and especially all you Veterans for all your wonderful
comments and praises. I am just flabbergasted that so many of you, seemingly all of you as a matter of fact, loved my
book so much. This was my first work and will probably be my only super novel. That said, I have been asked by
many to attempt another work as they all loved my first book so much they simply want more of my writing. Boy, who knew...
Due to this overwhelming request by so many I may attempt it in the future. However, after sweating over the last one
for six plus years I am not looking forward to it. I don't think I could live through the pain and agony of writing
another just yet. And, even though I know the content very well I haven't figured out what the title would or could
be.
Thank you again, and may God Bless you all.

***** Five plus stars From
Harold C., New York, NY Jesus
Boyd, I am very glad you were able to write this book. This story needs to be told to every living American. I
was in the Military too and was, like you, treated pretty bad but not as bad as you were, no way. I read on your web
site that this was your first book. You must be a natural writer because I just got lost in the story and had a very
hard time closing the cover at night. With your style of writing you should attempt another. I know that I would
read it, if for nothing else, just to read the story in the style you wrote your first book in. I commend you for all
that you did for our country and apologize for the many bad things that happened to you because of your commanding officers
while you served. Those men should be arrested and jailed just like you said. I am going to tell everyone I know
about this book and am going to re-read it for myself, probably more than just a few times. Good luck with your trip,
your march, to Washington DC too. I know that you will have a lot of support from other G.I.'s. in that effort.
Hell, if I can get away, I'll be there. God Bless you Sergeant. And thanks again, Harold, USMC.
***** FIVE STARS From: Michael B. Tacoma, WA. I just got your book in the mail on Friday, and I can't put it
down. My wife is yelling at me, telling me to stop reading and to do some work around the house. This will be
the third book for me to finish, ever... I am a 26 year Veteran, really don't care to read, but rather a see it
on the big screen type of guy, but your book grabbed me from the first page. I met you at the VA hospital where you
gave me your card for this book. I went on line and read everything on your site and then went to Amazon and purchased
one. I would like to meet up with you sometime and shake your hand and thank you for your service. God bless you
and your family. Micheal. P. B. ***** FIVE STARS From: John B, Little Rock, Ark I had to write to you Sergeant to
tell you how I felt about your book. It was just the best. I got a copy from a friend who visited the Seattle
area last year and after he got done reading it and after his wife and her friends got done with it they gave it to me.
Wow! What a story! I want to thank you for all you did for our country and apologize for how you were treated
by your officers and all. We all think you are made of the best our country has to offer, a real hero and a great American.
God bless you sir and good luck with the Veterans administration. In our opinions, you deserve to receive our countries
highest honors and its complete support as a Veteran.
No Rating From:Robert N.
Auburn, WA. Hello,
you don't know me but you gave me your business card last year at the Veterans day parade in Auburn, WA. I got your
book at the Library and found it very good reading. I and an ex-Marine give military presentations at Senior Centers
about four times a year. We would like to invite you to be a guest speaker at one or two of them.
***** FIVE STARS
From Jerald F. Eugene Or. Dear Sergeant Boyd; A friend of mine visited the gun show in Eugene a week or so ago
and purchased a book from you, the one you wrote, as a gift for me. You signed it to me. Thank you for that.
I don't think that I can say enough about your book and am not sure that just five stars says nearly enough about your
writing. I mean I can't say that I have ever read a book that kept my interest as much as yours did. Tonight
I am going to start reading it again but thus far have not shared its content with my family although I certainly plan to.
For now though I just want to keep it all to myself. I think the only thing I can say about the book is that reading
it made me very proud of you and of how you stood up to everything you went through while you served our country. I
mean, dam. As a matter of fact I felt more anger, happiness, frustration and outright glee and felt more like I was
actually drawn into it like I was a part of what was going on in the book while I read it than I ever felt while reading any
other book in my life. If just a quarter of what you wrote was true you deserve our country's highest medal and
deserve everything you are fighting for on your website for yourself and others who have served our country. I wish
you all the luck in the world. If you write another book please let me know so that I can buy one. Jerry. *****
FIVE STARS FROM: Clint H. Mosul, Iraq, and Fort Lewis, Washington. Well,
let me start by saying the book was great. Secondly, thank you. And lastly, I'm sorry for your losses.
I am currently in Mosul, Iraq, until next month when we go home to Fort Lewis. My wife picked up your book & you
signed it when you were there a few months ago. She talked to you for a minute , & you knew about the group my dad
was in... I was very impressed, but at the same time didn't believe you, not till I read your book that is.
WOW!!! You may have even worked with him. One of the codenames' you spoke about in your book, Yosemite Sam,
I know that my dad liked him and referred to him a few times. He has told me a few things about his experiences over
there. Oh, by the way, the group he was with was 'The Kennedy's 200', or the 'Black beret', as he
referred to them. I just want to say again how much I enjoyed the book and I really do appreciate all that you have done for
our great country and the public, opening up their eyes to all the things that happen, but really don't, if you know what
I mean. Thank you; Clint. ***** FIVE STARS FROM: Kathy; A mother
to a fighting son in Iraq. Hi! My husband met Robert at the Puyallup gun show in July.
We have both finished reading this great book and wanted to chat more with you. Thank you for your service. I
am planning on getting a signed book for my adopted military son who has had to defend himself and others in his convoy in
Iraq. He suffers from flashbacks and such, so I am hoping this will help him. Thanks again, Kathy. No rating: From: Linda and Mike:
SeaBee from Song Bo River----- Read your book I got from you at Portland Oregon gun show. I liked
it!!! I could not put it down. Let me know when the movie is coming out. Thanks, Mike.
*****
Five Stars From: Stanley T. Professor of Literature. Sergeant
Boyd! You have certainly earned that title in my eyes. I hope to meet you and shake your hand one day. I
have read your novel and viewed its epilogue on your website, along with all the other writings there. You tell it otherwise,
but, you write like you have been doing it all your life as a professional with a higher college degree, a masters at least,
in English, and another degree in English Literature. I don't believe that I have read a book that captured my
soul in such a way and fed my need to know, my curiosity, about what happens next at the end of each page or chapter, quite
as much as your novel. In fact, I read your book in less than a week, the first time. The second time, taking
my time this time to gather more information from other sources while at the same time learning still more from your teachings
in the book, took ten days. I have just finished it the third time and that read took me three weeks. Those six
weeks have been some of the best of my reading life. I thank you for writing this informative and spellbinding novel
and I, even though I have never been in the military, want to apologize for the way you were treated by the officers who commanded
you while you served. I hope someone out there, someone with the talent to see what your novel has to offer, makes a
movie about your story. I would certainly go to see it as I am sure many others would. The world doesn't know
you yet Mr. Boyd, but I believe this will change. May god bless you sir and thank you very much for your service to
our country. And don't worry, if Flynn wasn't taken care of by those who commanded him, God will.
***** Five Stars From: Phil. WOW! Robert, I want to thank you for sharing your story. In many ways
I shared parallel experiences and literally devoured your book. Like you, I
was the average boy next door that got sucked up in the draft, sent to Viet Nam, and was assigned to a LRRP team on the Delta.
A do or Die on-the-job training experience. Yes, even in the Army there are huge ego's! Having crossed two
of them I was busted twice but always seemed to find that avenging angel that made things right again. We did work in
concert with some snipers upon occasion. But their names and faces have by now slipped into the recesses of my mind.
Your insights, fears, joys, anxieties, frustrations, and beliefs parallel so many of us Veterans. You have a true gift
in being able to verbalize all that happened to you in a cohesive and meaningful way. Most of us make a mess of it when
asked to explain our, 'Nam experiences'. Especially when trying to explain the love of a fallen friend as you
did with Buck. Yes, I will be recommending your book as a must read to other Veteran friends and then eventually I will
re-read it at a slower pace. Just maybe... through osmosis maybe... I'll be better able to talk about those days.
Respectfully, Phil. *****
FIVE STARS From:
Michael K. MD.
Your fantastic book! I purchased Codename Litefoot at
a Portland (OR) gun show a few months ago. I just got around to having the time for reading it. I was a little hesitant at first
glance, thinking it was too long and was going to be boring. How wrong could I be!
I have not been able to put it down. Your descriptions are so graphic that even a never been in the service doctor
like me can feel and smell each page. I am telling everyone I know about your book including my brother stationed at
Da Nang 65-66. When I bought your book and briefly chatted with you I had NO IDEA who or what you really were.
You are definitely on my very short list of true heroes. From one proud citizen who enjoys every day of freedom and
his 2nd amendment rights, thank you. Thank you for what you did, what you went through, and especially for sharing it
all with people like me.
***** Five Stars
From: Elaine. Dear Robert; Just finished 'Codename Litefoot' for the
second time! One of the best books I've ever read. I feel indebted
to you Robert. I wish more people in the world were like you. It would be a better, safer place. Thanks
for being there and doing something about it. Everyone owes you for that-more than they know. And thanks for writing
the book too. PS:
I gave that extra copy of your book I purchased from you to my uncle who was in the Air Force in the Korean War. He
absolutely loved it! Couldn't put it down, read it cover-to-cover in one sitting!! ***** Five Stars From: Jerry K. Hi Mr. Boyd.. I have one word for your book; Fantastic! I had
a problem putting it down. The abuse you took reminded me of some of the abuse I had while still in the army.
I did not have any physical abuse but I had a lot of verbal and mental abuse. The only person that treated me like a
person was my drill sergeant. Too bad the jerks did not let you know where they buried Bucks body. Somebody out
there knows where he is. By the way, what happened to your horny-ass'd first wife and child? I got your book
at McChord Air Force base just before the gun show in Puyallup. Jerry K.
***** Five STARS
Dear Mr. Boyd, I met you at the Puyallup gun show yesterday,
and bought a signed copy of your book. I'm the guy who chatted with you a bit about Carlos Hathcock, Springfield
rifles, etc. Anyway, I have already been enjoying your book. I was too young to remember much of Viet Nam (I was
literally one year old, while you were out humping it in the jungle in 67), but I did just want to write briefly and tell
you, thank you for your service to your country. I honor the work that you did, I believe in it; I have tremendous respect
for all you Viet Nam Vets who were there for our country. And I want to apologize (for whatever it's worth--probably
not much) for the shameful way in which some people in our country treated you when you came home. In any case, not
all of us in this country feel that way about Viet Nam. I am thankful to have grown up in a home where my dad and grandfather
all served honorably in the service, and military service and other veterans (including those from Viet Nam) were always held
in highest esteem. And we are raising our own daughters likewise to show support and respect for our veterans, past
and present. I think you guys did an AMAZING job there, and you would have won
and accomplished the objectives there if you'd been allowed to finish the job. We really didn't LOSE Viet Nam
militarily; the pussy-hearted cowardly politicians in America crumbled and gave in to political pressure, and lost the
will to win. Our service people in Viet Nam did a great job, you were part of that, and I thank you sincerely for your
service there. Take care, and God Bless. I pray that you will find physical
health, and peace of mind and heart, from all the difficult things that you have faced in your life (and it sounds like a
lot from your book). ***** Five
Stars From: J.
A., Puyallup, WA. I have been reading your book.
I am not finished with it yet but I was in Vietnam too and I gotta tell ya that your writing puts me right back there.
I felt like I was right there with you while I read it and had to put it down a few times because it made me remember things
I had forgotten. I'll add this one to my collection and save it for my kids to read.
*****
Five Stars From: Paul D., Auburn, WA. I am an Iraq war Veteran and I am reading your book. I bought one from you at the gun show in Puyallup, WA.
Your book is very good. I also read what you had to say on your website.
I am sorry the US Government is treating you so bad but you are not the only one. The guys I went to war with are having
a very hard time getting the support they were supposed to get when we got back too. Just about everybody I know has
PTSD but nobody gets anything for having it. The brass just notes that they had a bad childhood into their records
and then refuses to pay them benefits. Semper-Fi. ***** Five Stars: From: Rick D.,
Portland Oregon, Hey man! I'm reading
your book! I purchased one from you at the Expo Center last week. Man I thought one of my friends was having a
bad time in the military. But after reading your book I can tell you that what you went through was far worse.
This stuff shouldn't happen to anybody, especially our men in the service. I wish you luck and a more prosperous
life in the future and hope your book sells really well. Thanks for fighting that war for us too.
***** Five Stars:
From: Alan, 03/08, a Veteran. Finished
your book and enjoyed it very much, I see by some of the other postings some did not as yet. It
is difficult if not impossible to explain the way things are in our government, they should fear us not us fearing them.
I wish you could talk to a sniper friend of mine that is still full of anger and distrust. His name is SFC,XXXXXX ,
USA ret.00000, he worked for General Barry R. McCaffery (sniper-6) in 1986. After I have read your book I now understand
him a lot better, he knows a lot of people in the business but only has a friend or two. I know the big guy in the sky
will have a very special place for you and Buck and all of the brave and honorable men that have been put in harms way by
men less than men like you. Alan. ***** FIVE STARS From: John
A. 05/08 Hello Sergeant Boyd!
I am reading your book and have been for the past three days and nights. I can't seem to get enough of what you
wrote and also don't seem to want to put the book down. That is a feat in itself. I fall asleep reading it
and wake up to want to read even more. Wow! This is a very well written book. It reminds me of things that
happened to me in country, about things I thought I had forgotten. I mean the way you wrote this book makes me feel
everything you felt, hear all that you heard, taste all that you tasted, smell everything you smelled, and more. I actually
get a rush of adrenalin when I read it. Thanks for writing this novel, Boyd. I believe you are one of our best
in America and believe you did what you had to do to survive it all. You are a hero man, and don't forget it.
Hang in there brother.. Your Friend, John.

To those who may have negative thoughts about
my book!
As a writer and as a human being, a man who has
learned a lot in his life about people all over the world while at war and during times of peace, I say this. I understand
that at some time or other there will be a person or group who will eventually write a negative critique about my book, although
that hasn't happened to date. Keep in mind that because of mental illness, anger issues, prejudice, jealousy,
terrorism, or whatever, these may be written to harm my work as a disabled Veteran. Then too, please keep
in mind that my book was written after I acquired concussive brain injuries, and suffered a stroke and that the book was written
from memory not from investigation or research. That said, as is evident from the e-mails I have received and posted
herin, most people just rave about the book and about how I was able to write it at all. I can say this to those
who may want to harm me or to discredit my work; It's OK, I understand that ther is mental illness in the world,
and that not everyone can or even wants to read about and or believe what actually happens in the US Military while a man
or woman serves his or her country. I understand that I may not have said the exact thing that I should have or didn't
list the exact support equipment I used or that was even available during that time, but the book is being presented as a
fiction work to cover that. But know this, sometimes the truth, no matter how it is written, must be told so that
others out there might not suffer as much as the man that came before them. In other words, It's OK
to disagree and it's OK not to like everything that is placed in front of you, and it is OK to be mentally handicapped
or mentally ill. To those I say that I am sorry for your ills. As a person who sudffers with PTSD and
its associated ills, I understand, believe me. At the end of the day, I applaud you and your rights in America to be
able to say what you think and also to read about the truth thanks to our Constitution. God Bless America, all our
troops on the ground around the world, and all our Veterans, especially our Veterans. Thanks for your
service and loss. More to come soon.
